Significantly extending their Spring Classics-conquering legacy, the 303 S wheels maintain their all-terrain identity with a 45mm rim height, adding a significantly wider internal width for increased performance and ride quality.
Road bikes now are more versatile than ever regardless of the road surface, but they still retain their speed.
The 303 S has a redesigned rim profile and design to optimize the performance of any cyclist who wants to rely on this new innovative product. Tubeless, for disc brakes, the 303 S gives the possibility of mounting wide tires, at low pressures, to also tackle dirt roads.
The 303 S is one of the lightest wheels in Zipp’s lineup and is optimized for best aerodynamic performance with a 28mm tire, but can accommodate off-road tires up to 50mm wide.
The significant innovation is in the design of the new 303 S; the external width of the rim is increased by 2 mm, to 27 mm, and the tyre bed is a good 7 mm wider, 23 mm internal width. The ability to inflate the tyre to lower pressures helps reduce rolling resistance and consequently provides a more comfortable ride.
Translated into numbers, according to internal tests carried out by Zipp, travelling on a flat road at a speed of 40 km/h with a 28 mm tyre allows you to save a good 10 watts.
